Petrol pump owner killed during broad daylight robbery in Maharashtra’s Bhiwapur

Nagpur: Armed robbers killed a petrol pump owner in Bhiwapur town of Maharashtra’s Nagpur district on Wednesday morning after targeting the petrol pump and another employee has been badly injured.

According to the Nagpur (Rural) police, the incident took place at Patil Petrol Pump located on the highway in Bhiwapur itself.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Dilip Rajeshwar Sontakke, a resident of Kolari Satgaon in Bhiwapur tehsil.
In this regard, the police have said that the injured employee Nanhe is currently undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur.

“Sontakke and Nanhe were busy counting money inside the cabin at around 10 a.m. Only then the robbers forcibly entered the premises. The motorcycle-borne robbers with three passengers quickly entered the cabin. In a shocking turn of events, they fired a warning shot in the air before attacking Sontakke with sharp weapons. Thereafter, he forcibly snatched the cash from the hands of the victims. When Nanhe rushed to Sontakke’s aid, he too was stabbed by the assailants, As told by the police. However, the robbers did not use the pistol they had during the attack,” he added.
Then on getting the information, the police team of Bhiwapur police station reached the spot. The police have also cordoned off the surrounding area in the district and the city.
Bhiwapur police have registered a case against the robbers under various sections including robbery, murder, and attempt to murder. And they have also started an intensive search operation to nab the criminals.
