Rajnath attends Gadkari ceremony, meets defense officials in the city

Nagpur: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has taken a quick tour of the city, where he has also attended a private function at the residence of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Simultaneously, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Nagpur by his official aircraft around 12 noon and held a meeting with the stakeholders in the field of defense at Sonegaon airport soon after landing. Then after that, they also reached Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s residence on Wardha Road.

Along with this, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also hosted a function on the occasion of his wife’s birthday and grandson’s thread ceremony. Along with this, some local leaders and their close people also participated in it. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh stayed at Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s house for almost an hour before flying back again.

Nagpur to pay attention to the self-reliant India policy in defense

DRDO officials, Air-Officer-Commanding-in-Chief Air Marshal Shashikar Chaudhary, who attended the meeting at the airbase, and Rajeev Puri, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Yantra India Limited, who is also the head of the PSU formed from Ordnance Factories last year. Various aspects including the future prospects of factories have also been discussed during the visit.

A press release also issued from the office of the Public Relations Officer of Defense said that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also been briefed about the various activities undertaken by the Defense establishments in the region.

The minister has also asked all the stakeholders in Nagpur to pay a lot of attention to the self-reliant India policy in defense, keeping pace with the technology outside. And along with this, he has also asked the commanders to follow the correct maintenance and operation practices keeping in mind the safety of the personnel.
