Three patients of Covid died in last 2 days, panel to decide on inclusion in Covid toll
Nagpur: While the daily Covid-19 cases have come down from 84 on Friday to 20 on Saturday, Health department officials confirmed that two patients, who had died while undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for pre-existing ailments, had tested positive for coronavirus.
Let us tell you that an elderly cancer patient from Madhya Pradesh died during treatment at AIIMS Nagpur on Friday, he was also Covid-19 positive.
It means that in the last two days, three patients with Covid have died in the city. However, the death audit committee of the divisional health department will decide whether these deaths should be included in the COVID-19 toll or not. The committee meeting is likely to be held on Monday. There was no mention of deaths at all in the official Covid-19 bulletin released by the administration on Saturday.
GMCH sources have also told TOI that a 17-year-old girl from rural areas of the Chhindwara district, who was suffering from the life-threatening infection sepsis, had tested positive for Covid during his treatment.
Pre-existing diseases played a major role in all three deaths
The girl died on the date of 8th April. A 70-year-old man from Chandrapur, who was undergoing treatment at GMCH for a heart problem and tested positive for Coronavirus, died on Saturday. NMC health department officials have also confirmed these deaths.
At AIIMS, a 65-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh, admitted for cancer treatment, tested positive for coronavirus. According to doctors, pre-existing diseases also played a major role in all three deaths. Till Saturday, 13 patients are also admitted to different hospitals in the city due to symptoms of Covid. And tell that maximum of seven patients are admitted to GMCH. None of them are showing very serious symptoms. About four patients are admitted to IGGMCH and one each to Wockhardt and Railway Hospital.
While Nagpur is recording an increase in the number of coronavirus cases, The situation is quite different in other parts of Vidarbha. Akola district reported zero new cases, Amravati four on Saturday. None of the 38 patients under treatment in Akola have been admitted to the hospital at all, while only one of the 30 patients in the Amravati district has been admitted to the hospital.
