Tigress found dead in Karwa forest of Ballarpur

A tigress was found dead on Saturday morning in the Karva forest of Ballarpur forest area.

Chandrapur: A tigress was found dead on Saturday morning in the Karva forest of Ballarpur forest area. However, till now the veterinarians have failed to fully confirm the exact cause of death of the tigress. Forest officials suspect it to be an incident of death in a territorial fight with another cat.

Due to regular patrolling by the forest guard of Karva Forest Beat, the body of this deceased tigress was recovered in compartment number 500 in the morning. And a team under the leadership of RFO Santosh Thipe had reached that place on the spot and then had also investigated the spot thoroughly.

The dead body of this deceased tigress was about 4 days old and the dead tigress’s body was also in a very rotten condition. And after completing these formalities well, the body of this tigress was taken out for postmortem.

Collected the viscera samples

RFO Santosh Thipe has reported that the cat was about 6 years old. And then he denied this poaching and also said that all the body parts of this tigress were intact.

The postmortem was conducted by Dr. Kundan Podchelwar, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Veterinary officer, and Dr. Vikas Tajne, Livestock development officer. But the cause of death has been inconclusive due to the extreme decomposition of the tigress’ carcass. And they have collected the viscera samples for forensic examination to confirm the cause of death of the tigress well.

Forrester also strongly suspects this as a case of territorial fighting. And the fact is that this deceased tigress had a broken neck and the tigress’s nails were also found broken on the hind legs. And it also confirms the possibility of territorial fighting between tigresses.
