Nagpur: In the 42nd edition of Travelers Adda held on Sunday, the historical places, temple towns, and arts of the region of Malwa have been seen.
People who were very enthusiastic about traveling from country and abroad had gathered for the same program. Where Sachin Jahangirdar shared his travel experience starting from the glorious past of Mandu.
Sachin Jahangirdar has said that its next stop was Maheshwar. Which is a city of temples, ghats and sarees, which is also unique for this place. It has Devi Ahilya Bai Fort which is still converted into a heritage site. The city is situated on the banks of the holy river Narmada. Once Ahilya leaves the ghat, there are many shops holding a huge collection of Maheshwari sarees.
About Omkareshwar, another temple town, he has also said that seeing such a huge crowd somehow one gets completely confused. He has said that there are 12 Jyotirlingas in it. The main temple complex is also situated on a hill surrounded by the Narmada and Kuveri rivers. Along with this, the local people also call it Kaveri, but this is hardly a misnomer.
Sheets made by the prisoners of Bhairavgarh
The next destination was also Ujjain, but with a stoppage at Indore. He has said that even before Dhar, Ujjain was the capital of Malwa. For a very short time, it was under the rule of Scindia of Gwalior. Even today the famous Gopal Temple is managed by the Scindia Trust. A very large number of pilgrims come to Ujjain who come to the Mahakaleshwar temple, Which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Along with this, another important attraction of Ujjain is the Bherugarh print chadar (sheets made by the prisoners of Bhairavgarh). Sachin Jahangirdar has said that in the streets in front of Gopal Mandir, many shops sell these sheets. It is also known as Batik in other parts of the country. Unlike their Omkareshwar, the temple town of Ujjain is much better managed.
