Complete tender process for Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine at GMCH in 4 months

A division bench of Justice Anil Pansare and Justice Sunil Shukre has ordered that the tender process for procurement and installation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Government College and Hospital be completed within about 4 months.

Nagpur: On the State Government for utterly failing to install (MRI) Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine at (GMCH) Government College and Hospital and Fire Safety Equipment at both Government College and Hospital and (IGGMCH) Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital Being very heavy. On Thursday the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has directed it to complete the formalities early.

The judges have said that if any additional funds are required. Then they will be provided soon without delay. If it is necessary then the government should also explore the possibility of using the funds of the District Planning and Development Council (DPDC).

Pointed Out Lack of Efforts

Before adjourning the hearing till the date of 8th December. The bench has asked the respondents to submit a progress report regarding the installation of fire protection machinery and equipment in the hospital and Government College and Hospital and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College before any further date.

After being summoned by the court, top officials of Government College and Hospital including Head of Surgery Dr. Rad Gajbhiye, Dean Dr. Sudhir Gupta, and Head of Radiodiagnosis Dr. Aarti Anand, General Manager of Huffkins Whose name is Vijay Baviskar. was present with them.

Bhushan Shingne (WP No. 3427/2000) and others, where amicus curiae Anup Gilda pointed out the lack of efforts on the part of the government in procuring Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Robotic Surgery System machines and not taking adequate fire preventive measures. The judges have said that because of this debate, It was also pointed out that the major error in completing the tender process was in respect of the correct meaning of the word ‘renewed’ used in the tender documents of one of the bidders. Which has been used in relation to the supply of the necessary equipment for the formation of the Robotic Surgery System.
