Woman returned from Spain still in hospital, waiting for genome report
A 40-year-old woman and her daughter (9) who had returned from the UK, have been discharged from the hospital after testing negative.
Nagpur: The report of genome sequencing of a 47-year-old woman who had returned from Spain is awaited. Because this woman is admitted in the special ward of AIIMS Nagpur.
A 40-year-old woman and her daughter (9) who had returned from the UK, have been discharged from the hospital after testing negative. Both this mother-daughter duo have left for Mumbai. And flew back to London on Saturday. The genome sequencing reports of both had come negative, officials said.
The husband of the woman who had returned from the UK had also tested positive in Mumbai from where they had returned.
The woman who returned from Spain, resident of Telecom Nagar in Khamla, said that she did not have any symptoms so far and was surprised to test positive only in Nagpur. He had tested negative on the date of December 5. And then flew to Madrid-Frankfurt-Delhi. She reached Delhi on 7th December and tested negative in Rapid RT-PCR. And he allowed the woman to travel to Nagpur.
Still Need Hospitalization
The civic officials had visited his house and then asked to do another RT-PCR test on the date of 11th December, While she was following the seven-day home quarantine as per the norms.
She has also said that she was a bit shocked to know that the report came positive on the date of 13th December. They had asked him to go to MLA Hostel or AIIMS Nagpur.
AIIMS officials have said that he is asymptomatic but still desperately needs hospitalization till his genome sequencing report is received. If this report is negative for the type of Omicron, he will be tested again on the 10th day of infection. His RT-PCR report dated 22nd December needs to be negative for international travelers to qualify for leave as per norms.
Arvind Patre (45), a resident of Dighori, is the only official Omicron confirmed patient in the city.
Meanwhile, a 67-year-old Omicron-positive patient from Buldhana is also asymptomatic. The district authorities have said that he is in isolation and every one of his close contacts has been tested and quarantined.
