A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide after she was recently released on bail by a rape accused man in the Maharashtra city of Nagpur, police said on Wednesday.

Nagpur: A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide after she was recently released on bail by a rape accused man in the Maharashtra city of Nagpur, police said on Wednesday.
Senior inspector of Jaripatka police station name Nitin Phatangare has said that the girl lived with her stepmother, her father and a brother, the girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Jaripatka area on Monday.
According to the police, the girl was allegedly raped by a relative of the girl’s stepmother in the month of June, following which a police complaint was lodged against the accused and the accused was arrested.
He has also said that this accused was released on bail from the Central Jail sometime back, and since then the girl was depressed.
The official also said that the body of the deceased girl has been sent for post-mortem and a case of accidental death has been registered.
(As per the directions of the Supreme Court on matters relating to sexual harassment, all the identity of the victim girl is not disclosed at all to protect her privacy)

An official has told that the attack took place near Ajni Maidan where the deceased Babita Dubey had gone to see a patient on Tuesday night.
He has also said that Babita Dubey’s husband whose name is Santosh Kale, the accused attacked Babita with a sharp weapon on the road, due to which Babita suffered injuries on her hands and face, before she fled from the spot.
The officer has also said that the victim Babita had also raised a noise, after which some passersby also came to save her, they have also said that the police took Babita to the hospital.
He has also stated that the accused, who is the second husband of the victim woman, was an alcoholic and did not allow the woman to enter in his house for a week.
The officer has also informed that a case has been registered against the accused husband under section 307 (attempt to murder) and now further investigation is on.
