Vidharbha Industries Association (VIA) has been a busy body in city organising one event to the other. One of the recently organized events includes the Khadi Fashion Show. As we know Khadi to be a handwoven cloth that has gained popularity since our country got independence. It was the idea promoted by our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. He gave the alternate to the Indian people against the oppression and economic liberation and gain the self-reliance.
Today, we have seen the city empowering not less than 20 lakhs people. Considering its importance in our city and country, the VIA ladies wing had organized a Khadi Fashion Show called Abhinav Khadi Fashion Show for the lady entrepreneur who is active in this field. This also marked the 150 years of birth anniversary of Gandhi Ji in the city. The key objective behind organizing the show was to promote the designers of the city active in Khadi industry along with creating awareness for this fabric and people involved in and around the city.
Many designers and creative businesswomen participated in the event and bagged awards for the same. The winners of the Khaadi fashion show include Tantu Shri Asi Vidya Hath Kargha Prakalp as the first runner up for the Simplicity creative house by Durgesh, while the second runner up includes the Pal creations by simple Chatwal. Rita Lanjewar the VIA LEW chairperson welcomed the participants while the jury of the event includes Abha Choudhury, Ekta Bhaiya and Madhubala Singh. The host of the program was sponsored by Batukbhai, Rokde jewelers, Vicco, Utter Dakshin, and Akshay opticals.
