Tiger kills young man in forest, injures girlfriend
The deceased victim has been identified as Ajit Someshwar Nakade (21), a resident of Chop (Koregaon).
Nagpur: A 21-year-old youth has died due to a tiger attack in the Usegaon Reserve Forest of Vadsa forest division of district Gadchiroli. While his girlfriend has been seriously injured. The PCCF (Wildlife) has also issued orders to capture the tiger.
The deceased victim has been identified as Ajit Someshwar Nakade (21), a resident of Chop (Koregaon). While his 20-year-old friend was injured and he also had severe bruises on his face and back. And she is also undergoing treatment in the district hospital. The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon. Both of them live more than 12 km from the incident site.
Forest sources have also said that the couple had moved into the thick bushes and were in a position to compromise when the tiger attacked. With this, the tiger has been identified as CT1. And it is also suspected that he had already killed two people badly in the range of Lakhandur under the division of Bhandara Forest. Lucknow and Vadsa share a common boundary.
Sources said that despite C-T1 being suspected of being the culprit behind the earlier two attacks. There is absolutely no scientific evidence, in any way, as the images on the camera trap, that the same tiger was involved in both cases. And the first human killing took place in the month of January and the second in the month of March. Both these attacks took place in the forest area itself.
Rapid rescue team was monitoring the tiger problem
Vadsa Deputy Conservator of Forests (DyCF) Dharamveer Salvitthal has said that C-T1 originally belongs to the Chimur range under Brahmapuri Forest Division. And along with this, this Bhandara has also spread in the division’s Lakhandur and had returned only last month.
Gadchiroli Forest Conservator Kishor Mankar has said that at the time when the tiger was causing a lot of trouble in Brahmapuri, Then orders had already been given to arrest him at that time. And those same orders have been extended even more now. He has also said that the couple has escaped from a Rapid Rescue Team (RRT) and entered the forest risking their lives.
Dharamveer Salvitthal has said that he had also alerted the people and a rapid rescue team was already monitoring the problem tiger in Usegaon forest. Since they restricted the movement of two-wheelers through the forest itself, the girl and the victim had come in a rented Tata Sumo And told the driver to wait till he went about 100 meters deep in the forest.
