10 Maoist supporters arrested for demanding extortion of Rs 70 lakh from the civil contractor

Nagpur: The Gadchiroli police last week picked up around 10 supporters of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) from different areas of south Gadchiroli for allegedly demanding extortion of Rs 70 lakh from a civil contractor.

So that the construction work of the bridge over the Bandiya river near Perimili in Aheri taluka should also continue in full swing.
On November 5, a gang of about 10-12 people abducted a manager at gunpoint from the construction site and then took him to the forests of Chandra and Rapella.

According to the manager, the kidnappers were dressed in olive green uniforms typically worn by Maoist guerrillas. He has also claimed that he had some firearms as well.
Also, after registering a case under the Extortion and Arms Act, the police of Gadchiroli have started an investigation.
