Maharashtra should be reflected in Indian Science Congress: Devendra Fadnavis
Measures should be taken so that a maximum number of students from schools and colleges can participate.
Nagpur: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has held a review meeting regarding the Indian Science Congress (ISC) to be held at Nagpur University from January 3 to 7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conference organized by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology where scientists from across the country are also going to participate.
“Measures should be taken so that a maximum number of students from schools and colleges can participate. Maharashtra’s progress in the field of science and technology should be reflected through the Indian Science Congress,” he said.
“A system should be set up to transport the participating students. Try to increase their participation from other places of the state as well. Make good arrangements for the stay and travel of the delegates coming from different places,” he added.
He also said that special care should be taken for the accommodation of scientists coming from abroad. “The university is completing 100 years. It is a flagship program of the University which deserves good publicity.” he said.
Chaudhary was informed about all the preparations through presentation
The preparations for the 108th Indian Science Congress have also been reviewed at the official residence of the Deputy Chief Minister. Also Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, collector Vipin Itankar, municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B, principal secretary of the high technology department Vikas Chandra Rastogi, deputy chief minister’s secretary Shrikar Pardeshi, divisional commissioner Vijayalakshmi Prasanna Bidri, chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi, Nagpur University vice-chancellor SR Chaudhary, director of Nagpur metro Anil Kokate and other officials of the university.
Chaudhary was also informed about all the preparations through presentation. Research papers, exhibitions and guidance will be organized in 14 branches like zoology, engineering, physics, agriculture, forest, animal, fisheries, chemistry, biology, statistics, medical science, and new biology. Science students are also going to be benefitted by this guidance.
