Nagpur Gets World’s First Plasma Trial Centre
Project Plantina as the CM announced yesterday is a unique trial program that remains the World’s largest convalescent plasma therapy trial-cum-project. It will be playing a pivotal role in treating the severe viruses like COVID-19. Since the state announced the launch of the centers in different cities, Nagpur was the first one to get the world’s first plasma trial centre. Yes, you heard it right, your city has become the world first place to have such a unique kind of trail centre for plasma.
As per the Hitavada, Cityline, it was launched by the Medical Education and Drugs Department of the state. It is counted among the ambitious projects in the city and thus has emerged as the only centre in the world for carrying out the big time trials for the fatal virus. It will be carried out in the city at the premises of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Talking about the same, Mr. Amit Deshmukh the Medical Education Minister was seen talking about the same in his speech after the Chief Minister Uddhav B Thackeray was seen inaugurating the project.
The session also had Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh, the Minister of Medical Education and Cultural Affairs; along with Rajesh Tope, Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare; Rajendra Patil Yedravkar, the Minister of State for Public Health, Medical Education and Drugs and Cultural Affairs, the Guardian Ministers of several districts, Secretary Medical Education, Drugs and Cultural Affairs, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, Padmashri Dr T P Lahane, Director of Medical Education. For the centre, the state has allocated around 17 Cr via the CM Cares Fund.
