About 25 bills may be tabled in winter session from 19 to 30 December
The last time Nagpur also hosted the assembly session was in December 2019.
Nagpur: The BAC, which has decided the schedule of the state assembly session, has approved the schedule of December 19-30 for the Nagpur session on Tuesday.
But it has also said that it is going to review the date of December 28 to decide the actual last working date. And also the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Ajit Pawar has also demanded that the Nagpur session should be held for at least three weeks.

Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Legislative Council also said, “The schedule has been approved for December 19-20. However, during the meeting, it was decided to hold another meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on December 27 or 28 and review the situation to decide the actual last working day for the winter session.”
The senior politician said a lot of business would be transacted during this session. “We will have around 25 bills to be introduced. Apart from this, various issues raised by the legislators will be discussed in both the assembly and the council.” Neelam Gore said.
There are many issues related to Vidarbha and Marathwada
The ongoing Karnataka-Maharashtra dispute will also reverberate in the legislature. Neelam Gorhe has also proposed that all parties should also pass a resolution in support of Akhand Maharashtra and those living in the affected areas bordering the state. “My proposal was accepted by everyone in the Business Advisory Committee. Now we will pass the resolution, all parties will stand united with our Marathi people in the region,” Neelam Gore said.
Ajit Pawar said that the Nagpur session should be extended. “This session should be of at least three weeks, as we have not held a session in Nagpur for a long time due to Covid-19. There are many issues related to Vidarbha and Marathwada which need to be addressed. There are many questions related to Nagpur and Amravati region, which need to be discussed in this session,” Pawar said.
Senior NCP leader has also said that all the opposition parties are going to come together and discuss the agenda of the session. “We will reach Nagpur late night of December 17 or early next morning. After meeting with all the opposition parties, it will be decided which issues should be kept on priority,” Ajit Pawar said.
