Action to be taken against polluting vehicles says NMC commissioner
On Thursday, Radhakrishnan held sway over a meeting of the urban-level action committee for pollution control.
While implementing the pollution control action plan, Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, has directed the transport authorities to take appropriate action against owners of vehicles that pollute the air, do not have a PUC, and have been in operation for more than 15 years under the Scrab Policy.
The NMC has completed micro-planning works in the action plan for pollution control in the city and presented it to the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.
On Thursday, Radhakrishnan held sway over a meeting of the urban-level action committee for pollution control, which was held here.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Collectorate, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, the Regional Transport Office, VNIT, and NEERI. M D Bhiwapurkar, Sushama Bhalekar, Pinkesh Chakole, Sandip Lokhande, Shrikant Deshpande, Ravindra Bhelave, M D Bhiwapurkar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Vijay Kolhe, Chief Accounts & Finance Officer, Garden Superintendent, ACP (Traffic) Ajaykumar Malaviya, Khanderao Deshmukh, City Transport Officer, Snehal Dhoke, Nayab Tehsildar, Dr. Dilip Lataye, Padma Rao, Sangita Goel, Ashok Kare, A N Kapole, K P Pusadkar, Executive Engineers, Nodal Officer (Sanitation) Dr. Shweta Banerjee, Sonali Chavan, Ajay Mankar, Dr. Gajendra Mahalle, Amol Chaorpagar, and several other officers along with them.
On the behest of NEERI, a briefing on micro-planning was given, and Radhakrishnan gave the officials instructions on how to effectively implement the city’s pollution control plan.
