Nagpur University gets new Pro-V-C – Dr Subhash Chaudhari

In the latest buzz in the Nagpur Education domain, we see Dr Subhash Chaudhari has been appointed as the Pro VC of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Dr. Chaudhari is currently engaged as the Principal of JD College of Engineering and Management. Speaking to the local media (The Hitavada), Dr. Chaudhari said that he will take this opportunity to focus on the online mode of education and put his efforts to digitalize the current education.

He said even the traditional universities should not be lagging behind in making things digital. Applauding the initiative of Dr. Murlidhar Chandekar, the VC of the Nagpur University, he said that it was he who took his first step towards this direction and supported the digital project. He also took the pledge to continue on the said work, which was even considered by the earlier Pro VCs in the city. Earlier Dr. SP Kane has worked as the Pro VC and as his term came to an end, he was appointed as the new Pro VC of the Nagpur University.

Dr Chaudhari has done his graduation (Bachelor of Engineering) in Civil from Nagpur University, while he completed his Master’s program from Amravati. Later, he completed his Ph.D. He has been teaching since the past few decades and has 32 years of experience in teaching Engineering students. He took the charge as Principal JD College a few years ago, while earlier he served as the Principal of Vidya Niketan Institute of Engineering and Technology.

While talking about the current situation, he said the education sector along with the state is undergoing a tough time amidst the lockdown. He said he had to take some tough decisions in order to streamline things. Talking about the exams on hold of the university, he said he would take a review of the situation and then make a final call. He has worked on various positions earlier in his career. He is also the Secretary of the body – ISTE, Maharashtra and Goa section and is also on the Academic Council of RTMNU.
