Amravati violence: BJP leader Anil Bonde arrested along with 13 others
Apart from Anil, district Amravati BJP state spokesperson Shivrai Kulkarni, City mayor Chetan Gawande, BJP president Nivedita Chaudhary, have also been arrested.
Amaravati: BJP leader Anil Bonde and Former Maharashtra agriculture minister and 13 others were arrested on Monday in the incident of violence in the city Amaravati on the date of 13 November. In which many shops were pelted with stones due to the bandh called by the BJP.
Apart from Anil, district Amravati BJP state spokesperson Shivrai Kulkarni, City mayor Chetan Gawande, BJP president Nivedita Chaudhary, have also been arrested. And all of them have been produced in the 1st court which granted them bail.
In connection with the back-to-back incidents of violence that took place on Friday and Saturday in district Amravati. So far, the police have registered cases against about 14,673 people under about 26 different offences.
In Tripura also, the Raza Academy took out a rally without any permission on Friday to protest against the alleged cases of communal violence. Due to which stones were also pelted at various places. After 1 day when the mob pelted stones at many shops in Rajkamal Chowk and adjoining areas during the bandh called by BJP, curfew has been imposed in the Amravati district for 4 days. And the internet is turned off.
VHP members surrender
After this protest by the local BJP leader, this curfew was extended to include 4 more cities of the district on Sunday.
“In the case of violence that took place during the march of Raza Academy to the District Amravati Collectorate on the date of November 12, a crime has been registered against about 8,364 people. And 9 of them were also arrested, and For which no permission of any kind was sought.” District Amravati Police has said in a release.
Police officials have registered cases against about 6,309 people for the violence dated November 13. And about 53 of them have been arrested. And weapons have also been confiscated from those people. He has also said that 9 policemen including 1 officer were injured in stone pelting by BJP and other organizations.
Police have formed separate teams to investigate both these incidents.
Anil, who was detained in Nandgaon Khandeshwar on Sunday, was arrested from his house this morning itself. While the rest of the BJP leaders and at least two members of the VHP surrendered before the police officers and were then arrested.

Police officials have also said that property worth Rs 5.15 lakh has been damaged in the violence that took place on Friday.
Curfew has also been relaxed for 2 hours between 2 pm and 4 pm on Monday. But internet services were completely closed.
Amravati Police Commissioner Aarti Singh said that the law and order situation is being thoroughly reviewed. And then the final decision on this curfew will be taken only after getting instructions from the Home Ministry of this state.
