Atleast five Covid-19 patients escape from Nagpur Hospital
Nagpur: Covid-19 has been the prime concern since the very beginning of the year 2020. This global pandemic has infected 907K individuals in the state and has taken the lives of 26,604 patients. With 1343 fresh cases in the past few hours Nagpur’s Covid-19 tally now stands at 39,482. The second state capital witnessed 54 deaths on Sunday, the highest till date. The death toll has now moved up to 1315.
For proper treatment of those infected with this deadly virus, corona warriors at hospitals are working hard continuously. Their priority currently is to help those infected fight this virus and bring down the death rate.
All those showing even minor symptoms are ordered to get themselves tested and if positive, they can either opt for home isolation or can be admitted to a hospital.
However, five coronavirus positive patients ran away from a Nagpur based hospital run by the government, where they were admitted and were undergoing Covid-19 treatment. They, however, were caught a few hours later, revealed a senior official.
According to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) official, these patients ran away from the hospital in morning while they were being treated. They were caught at a neighboring station in Madhya Pradesh. The patients boarded a train soon after they escaped.
“A guard at the hospital informed the RPF about their escape, following which our personnel launched a search. One of the patients was a woman who had delivered a baby recently and had later tested coronavirus positive,” said the official.
He further added, “After being tipped-off, the RPF team went through the CCTV footage, which revealed that they boarded the Bihar-bound Sanghamitra Express. Since the train had already left the Nagpur station, the Betul RPF unit was informed about these five infected passengers”.
All the five patients were immediately brought back in an ambulance to the same Nagpur hospital where the escaped from.
