Casualties from Maoists rise to 27 in Gadchiroli encounter

Nagpur: The death toll on the Maoist side in the district Gadchiroli encounter has risen to 27 on Tuesday. When the body of rebel leader Sukhlal Parachapi was found in the hills of Mardintola and in the forest areas, just near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border in northern Gadchiroli.

On the date of November 13, around 26 bodies of Maoist cadres, including top rebel leader Milind Teltumbde, were recovered from the same area by C60 police personnel of district Gadchiroli. And the police have claimed that the body of Parchapi was found trapped between two rocks. And this was found after a lot of searching on the basis of inputs from 1 C60 jawan. Who had seen him firing.

Parchapi was promoted to the rank of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee several months back. And then he was given a much larger area of ​​responsibility because of his own seniority and “effectiveness”. At first, it was believed that he had fled from the Parachapi encounter site.

The police officials have not yet come to any conclusion about the possible reasons for the Maoists in both the states, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, to set up such a large number of camps.

On Tuesday, the district Gadchiroli police were completely successful in identifying 7 bodies. In which one other bodyguard of Teltumbde, a member of the Central Committee, is also involved in this. The bodyguard has been identified as Somda, a native of Dantewada in Chhattisgarh.

Seven Bodies Handed Over

Earlier, the bodies of two bodyguards of Teltumbde had been identified. And police officials have so far identified about 23 insurgents killed. Out of which 14 are from Chhattisgarh only. And 4 dead bodies have not been identified yet.

SP Ankit Goyal has said that the ineffective cadres of Chhattisgarh are being identified on the basis of information received from the police officer of that state and the records available with the district police headquarters.

It is also learned that 7 bodies have been handed over to the next of kin of the deceased. And while the rest have been kept in the mortuary of the General Hospital of Gadchiroli district.

SP Ankit has also said that the families of ineffective cadres of Chhattisgarh are being contacted with the help of local police. Which is taking time because of their own remote locations. He has also said that he will cremate those unclaimed dead bodies only after a certain period as per the law.

SP Ankit did not rule out the possibility of several parts of the encounter spreading to Chhattisgarh due to the hilly terrain. It has also been said that the Maoists were spread over a very large area as several dalams. And formations were present at the time of this encounter.
