Cotton Market to Reopen as City Mayor Permits it
This Thursday, the city mayor Mr. Sandeep Joshi was seen taking some critical decision after visiting the various vegetable markets in Nagpur. During his visit to Cotton Market, he got the chance to interact with the Cotton Market Association officials and discussed their issues. The officials informed that the civic body is not allowing them to open the vegetable market despite their earlier orders of closing till 31st March. Its been two days, they are still not allowed to open the vegetable market.
They claimed that the civic body officials are not allowing them for their ongoing sterilization work, which according to them has been completed. The municipal administration, however, has lockdown the cotton market till March 31. But with April coming, they are not allowing them to open. Similar is the case with Kalamna Market, which is closed and hence the flow of people is more towards the Cotton Market.
After listening to their plea, the mayor has now allowed opening the cotton market from tomorrow. It was locked down for the above-said reason. It has remained the oldest market in the city. Now as per the mayor, new timings have been given for them to operate. It will remain open from 7 am to 2 pm daily without any hassle or issue. The mayor then suggested that he will only allow up to 50 vehicles. Joshi then directed the officials of the Cotton Market to immediately communicate with the vegetable vendors to follow the set rule and open the market. Stay tuned to know more about it.
