Education Department will hold hearing in dispute over post of Principal of Bishop Cotton School
On Friday, the Education Department received a letter from Maudlin Tiwaskar alleging that the BCS management had illegally removed her from the post of headmaster.
Nagpur: The District Education Department is going to hold a hearing between the management of Bishop Cotton School (CBSE) and an employee regarding the huge dispute regarding the post of headmaster.
On Friday, the Education Department also received a letter from Maudlin Tiwaskar alleging that the BCS management had illegally removed her from the post of headmaster. In a detailed letter as well, Tivaskar has named several management members and provided a timeline of how the two sides have come to conflicting positions.
Education Officer Ravindra Katolkar said, “I will hold a hearing in my office and invite both the parties involved in the dispute. Management says that Maudlin Tiwaskar was appointed in charge/Assistant Principal and now he has taken that charge. But they say that this has been done in violation of the rules. Anyway, I will hear both sides as per protocol.”
Maudlin Tivaskar has claimed that his position in charge has already changed
However, the trust, which manages the school, has completely denied Maudlin Tiwaskar’s allegations. Trust secretary Rachna Singh said, “We had appointed Maudlin Tiwaskar as the in-charge principal. Also, we are not removing him at all, only shifting him to the BCS branch in Dharampeth on the same pay. Despite this, when any hearing is held in the office of the Education Department, we will present all the documentary evidence.”
Maudlin Tivaskar has also claimed that his position in charge has already changed as per law as he has completed more than two years in the post. In his letter to the education department, Maudlin Tiwaskar wrote, “By virtue of section 5 of the Maharashtra Private Schools Employees (Conditions of Services) Act 1977, the provision of deemed confirmation is applicable in the present case.”
