First list of crop loan waiver announced
The first list of beneficiaries from the state farm loan waiver scheme has been released on Monday by Maharashtra government. A total of 15,358 beneficiaries will be benefited from the scheme. Some farmers had an interaction with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and deputy Ajit Pawar through video conferencing. The bank accounts of these farmers were credited with funds.
A statement was issued by the Chief Minister’s Office. It said that 34,83,908 bank accounts of farmers have been identified so far under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule farm loan waiver scheme. The scheme has been implemented within a time period of 60 days from the date of announcement. The state machinery has been credited for speedy execution, as stated. The loans of all the farmers who took a loan of upto Rs two lakh till 30 September, 2019 will be waived off, announced the Chief Minister last year, in December; immediately after taking the charge as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
A farmer from Parbhani, Vithalrao Garud, informed the CM that all hua debts have been cleared; during the video conferencing interaction at the Vidhan Bhawan. The same farmer invited CM for his daughter’s marriage too.
Another farmer, Popat Mukte, from Ahmednagar District stated that the procedure to claim loan waiver was a simple one. He gleamingly added that the tradition of doing rounds that any person has to take to the government offices, was not the case for loan waiver. He also stated that the work took place swiftly and saved him a lot of rounds that one person usually makes to the government offices.
