NAGPUR: Many people passing by the Nagpur Zilla Parishad office may not realize that for the first time in the district, a war room has been set up to curb board exam malpractices.
Officially also called District Control Room, This slim five-member team is also leveraging technology a lot to create an extra layer of security for the ongoing state board exams.
Team head Bhanudas Rokde said, “We video call the exam center in charge and get live updates on the ground situation. The names and numbers of all exam center in-charges of Nagpur district are also in our database and through video calls, we get to see the live feed of the campus and know whether everything is in order or not.”
This war room is on top of the multi-layered security protocols in place for board exams and is aimed at gathering information and reporting potential malpractices.

Chitra Lakhotia and Swapna Telange, who make calls at the randomization centers, said, “We do not wait for information to come on our helpline number (8793812809). We are in constant check with the exam centers on the latest updates.”
Kamlesh Pande and Ravindra Rachalwar ensure that all calls are logged, and the database is updated, which ultimately helps in monitoring the exam centers. “Video clips sent from the exam center are also stored by us for future reference,” They said.
Saumya Sharma, CEO of Nagpur Zilla Parishad has also said, “The video feed we collect is from the campus and not inside the exam centre. It is important to know that there is no unwanted movement in the surroundings/premises.”
