HC ask NMC to Seek Info from Corporators
Since the issue of potholes came to light to the High Court, it has gone tough on this very problem in City. All thanks to the petition brought down to the High Court to bring the authorities to notice about the growing bad plight of the roads in the city. Things have turned bad to worse allowing too many accidents in the city on rise due to the presence of pot holes in different areas. The bad monsoon and the ongoing road construction too has added the pinch of salt over the injury.
The court has clamped down on the authorities of NMC to act fast and resolve the issues. In the latest stance over the issue of potholes in the city, the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has asked the NMC authorities to seek a detailed report on potholes and submit the same to the court. The issue came to light once again during the hearing of one of the cases related to potholes in the city where the petitioner Mr. M Anil Kumar case was heard in the court.
The court comprising of judges Zaka Haq and Murlidhar Giratkar have asked the authorities of NMC to act fast to resolve the issue of potholes in the city and then report to the High Court on an urgent basis. Talking about the same, the court directed the NMC officials to seek the help of ward members and corporators to check the number of potholes in their respective areas as they should be knowing about the same.
