Hunger Warriors Continue to Work in Slums Supplying cooked food and grocery
Ever since the lockdown was announced, the daily workers and laborers who earn daily for their sustenance seem to be affected the most. The people in the slum areas have no other option but to rely upon the well-wishers and patrons of the city who come out to help them in the form of cooked food and grocery and food kit. As reported earlier, a wide range of NGOs and groups have come forward with their help and are now supporting one and all.
A central coordinating committee has been formed at the city level with the volunteers of Healing Touch taking care of the same. Many of the groups have come forward in donating grocery, money and cooked food for the areas that remain affected. The stay-at-home order has also given tough times for the volunteers who are going out and working. But thanks to the cooperation of the City police, things have become easy. Yet with the people roaming around for no reason on the roads have made things bad to worse even for the volunteers as one can see the police have stopped permitting to move around.
With the creation of a central group at the city level, the volunteers are ensuring quick and efficient work. At the time of the disaster, many well-wishers from the areas like Sadar, Jafar Nagar, and other places have come forward to support the cause and helping a wide range of groups and NGOs who have been working for the poor and needy. People willing to contribute can call Mr. Irshad Khan (Project Coordinator Healing Touch) at 9420235541.
