But amidst this political cloud, we now hear that the new City Mayor is likely to elected soon and that he or she would come from a general category. As per reports, a draw of 27 municipal corporators is done recently in Mumbai in which Nagpur has voted for the mayor from Open Category.
Earlier, this position was reserved only for the woman from the general category. However, this time, things have slightly changed and we have a male mayor from the general category. The election date for Mayor in the city would be on 21st November, which is still tentative. However, the date could slip to one extra day reaching to 22nd November. The deadline for the nomination for mayor is on 16th November. The city will, therefore, have its 53rd Mayor.
