Loco pilot team received special training for running Vande Bharat Express

Nagpur: After being flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday the loco pilot team and the rest of the crew responsible for running the Vande Bharat Express from Nagpur to Bilaspur had been trained by the Chief Loco Inspector of the Central Railways in the last several days.
Sources have also said that there was extra emphasis on speed in the training as the train will run at a speed of 130 kmph. The track, curvature, and gradient along with the signaling system and the distance between stations were also part of the team’s consultation, training, and optimization sessions.
Sources have also said that the Express had already reached Nagpur station from the Maintenance Workshop in Bilaspur. Wherein after thorough testing and practice, it was issued the most important Brake Pressure Vacuum (BPV) certificate. He has also said that the Mechanical Department has also finalized about 10 members, onboard housekeeping team, for the first run of Vande Bharat Express along with the Supervisor.
Along with this, the commercial team has also finalized the catering service for the train through an open tendering system. According to a source, ticket checkers and reservation staff had also been trained about the seating capacity and berth pattern in the train.
Electrical and mechanical staff of South East Central Railway
“Platform number 1 to 4 will remain closed for operations for four hours. The operations department is now coordinating and rescheduling other trains.” a source said adding that the divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Central Railway, Nagpur Division is monitoring the preparations.
Maninder Uppal, Divisional Railway Manager, South East Central Railway (SECR), Nagpur Division, also got the coaches of Vande Bharat Express inspected after the train arrived at Nagpur station. In addition, the electrical and mechanical staff of South East Central Railway have also inspected the lighting and air conditioning of the coaches.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF), along with National Security Guard (NSG) personnel, is also learned to have carried out anti-sabotage checks and drills at the inauguration sites and surrounding areas. Apart from the special commandos, the NSG personnel will completely convert the station premises into a fort.
