Nagpur’s dairy giant Dinshaw’s to be sold for Rs 1000 crore to Hindustan Unilever Limited
There seem to be rumors floating around that the FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever Limited would soon be going to buy the popular Nagpur based giant company called Dinshaw’s for not less than 1000 crore. The company was founded by the Nagpur based brothers Dinshaw and Erachshaw Rana before India’s independence in the 1930s, which is known to offer the company a revenue of not less than an annual Rs 500 crore. As per reports, Dishshaw’s has remained the oldest and reputed ice cream parlor in the city.
It has a brand value of not less than 2300 Crores in the market, while the other partner, Bapuna Group has remained active in beverages who diversified in the year 2002 by acquiring half the stake of the company which owned by the Ranas. However, there is no official confirmation from the company or the partners as they did not respond to this query.
If that goes true, the city’s biggest brand dealing with dairy products would go in another company’s garb and maybe the brand value and other things would remain affected, which will be missed by the Nagpuris. Well, let’s see how things would move but at the moment the rumors are seen suggesting for the same. You let us know what do you feel about it by commenting below.
