There has been a long delay in releasing the compensation as the company has objected to the survey conducted by the administration and has also sought a review. The issue will be resolved in the meeting called by the collector
Suresh Dhanorkar has also claimed that the company is fully prepared to pay compensation after reviewing the damages caused by the ash pond leakage. The plant has also appointed consultants from IIT Kanpur and NIT Rourkela to take corrective measures against leakage from the ash reservoir.
Immediately after the completion of the election, this issue will be resolved in the meeting called by the collector.
The company has also submitted a report to the administration claiming 100% utilization of fly ash and bottom ash generated by the power plant after objections raised by Suresh Dhanorkar. However, the MP has also written to the state pollution control department to verify the claims made by the power plant.
