Police station with one stop solution soon, says CP Amitesh Kumar
Women police officers were felicitated in the program for their contribution to the police force and maintenance of law and order in the city.
Nagpur: Crime against women is one of the top priority issues on the agenda of the city police, CP Amitesh Kumar said on Tuesday. And with proper infrastructure, a Thana will be set up very soon. He also presided over the International Women’s Day program organized by Nagpur City Collis at Vanmati Hall of VIP Road.
Women police officers were felicitated in the program for their contribution to the police force and maintenance of law and order in the city. Justice Vasanti Naik, the first woman High Court judge of Vidarbha region, was also the chief guest. Along with this, Joint Commissioner of Police Aswati Dorje and Additional Commissioners of Police Navin Reddy and Sunil Phulari were also present.
Amitesh Kumar has also said that, Women’s police officers have also excelled in every field from grievance redressal to apprehending criminals. He has also urged them all to show their strength through capacity building and self-confidence development. Also women have skills, They should also provide them a platform to showcase those talents.
International Women’s Day is celebrated
Speaking about the substantial reduction in shifts of around 8 hours for women policemen, Amitesh Kumar has said that questions had been raised about equal pay as well. They also believe that women have certain roles to play and believe that even though working hours have been reduced, his efficiency at work has not been compromised at all. This is also proof that the experiment has been completely successful.
Vasanti Naik has also said in his address that, he also believed that law is the most difficult profession, Given how many responsibilities one needs to shoulder. But they have realized that the work and duties of the police are multifaceted. It is more complex than any other discovery. Along with this, the police fulfill the moral and ethical obligations towards society and also do a lot of service to the citizens.
Aswati Dorje also lauded Kumar’s efforts to ensure that the city woman is in safe working conditions for the police. International Women’s Day is celebrated all over the world in honor of the movement to establish a very good working environment for women. There are around 33 police stations in Nagpur out of which senior PIs in six are women only. And every woman cop has all the power to ‘break prejudice’ which is also the theme of this year’s Women’s Day.
