Rs 400 fine provision, but the man gets notice of Rs 1 lakh from the NDS

Nagpur: Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on a person who wasted food on Friday. According to the rule, a fine of Rs 400 is imposed for the first-time violation.
The fine notice has been served to Sandip Fulzele, resident of Narhari Nagar (Besa Road). According to Nagpur Municipal Corporation sources, Sandip Fulzele organized the home entrance ceremony on Thursday. Along with this, he allegedly threw the used plates and food waste on the road and on the adjoining plot. And an unknown caller had also lodged a complaint in the Hanuman Nagar zone.
NDS personnel visited the spot on Friday. And in the notice, the NDS personnel also mentioned that the penalty was imposed as per the order of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) dated 3rd July, 2017. “If the fine is not paid at all within 48 hours, then you will be fined daily. After paying the fine, pick up the garbage and hand it over to the garbage collectors,” This is stated in the notice.
NDS personnel have expressed the possibility of reading the news of a fine of one lakh rupees
Additional Municipal Commissioner Ram Joshi has informed that he has also canceled the fine. Fuljail will be fined only Rs 400.
The NDS has also been empowered to impose fines as per a resolution of the NMC General Body passed on 20th June, 2017. And with this, in any way, no employee of the Nuisance Detection Squad can impose a fine at all in excess of the amount sanctioned by the municipal body. Also, they cannot impose fines at all on disturbances other than those approved by the House.
According to sources, the NDS personnel have also expressed the possibility of reading the news of a fine of one lakh rupees. Joshi has directed the top officers of the Nuisance Detection Squad to guide the personnel properly.
