Nagpur: State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil, who was in the city on Sunday, has also said that sensitive cases of sexual abuse against women are being expedited. Referring to the death sentence awarded to the accused in the Sakinaka rape and murder case in Mumbai, he has said that the charge sheet has been filed within 18 days in this case.
Walse Patil has also said in a conversation with the media at Ravi Bhavan that the proposed stringent anti-rape law ‘Shakti Act’ would also be sent back again for the President’s assent after incorporating the recommendations.
Walse Patil has also said that Nagpur was relatively far from the danger zones of organizations like Al-Qaida.
State Home Minister, who also held a review meeting with CP Amitesh Kumar and IG Range Chhering Dorje, has also said that the top officials have been informed about the cases of extreme atrocities on women, and accordingly prompt measures are also taken. He has also assured to take up the matter of Kanhan’s karate teacher with SP Vijay Magar. Against whom seven FIRs have been registered for sexual exploitation of students.
Possibility of shifting the jail to a new location
Walse Patil, who attended the honor ceremony of newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel in the city, has also said that they would very soon send an officer to the Nagpur Central Jail to investigate the complicated deaths that took place in the jail premises in the last few months. The Home Minister has also said that there is a high possibility of shifting the jail to a new location with the efforts of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Walse Patil has also said that the unit in charge of various districts and commissioners has been told about the importance of community policing. And talks have also been held with prominent leaders to further strengthen social and communal harmony.
The state home minister has also said that there was a proposal to revive the ‘influx’ system in the state, Due to which has been of great help in resolving situations that may trigger violence or conflict.
