Shiv Sena MLA booked for slapping policeman in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Sadar police on Tuesday registered a case against Shiv Sena MLA Nitin Deshmukh from Balapur in Akola district for assaulting police sub-inspector Sakharam Kamble outside the main gate of Ravi Bhawan, Civil Lines.
A case has also been registered against MLA Nitin Deshmukh and his supporters under sections 353, 186, 448, 294, and 506 read with 34 of IPC.
This incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed at the entrance of Ravi Bhawan. Sadar police have also seized the DVR of the CCTV camera.
This incident also took place at around 6.10 pm on Tuesday when PI Sharad Kadam, PSI Sakharam Kamble, and others were posted at the entrance of Ravi Bhavan. A senior police officer from Sadar police station also said that they were checking vehicles entering the premises.
“Vehicles without passes were being stopped outside. At this time, a white-colored Innova stopped at the entrance and around five to six people got down.” Subsequently, they approached PI Sharad Kadam and started questioning him as to why the police were stopping vehicles from entering the Ravi Bhavan premises,” Sakharam Kamble said in his FIR.

On this, the senior PI has explained that this is being done as per the security objectives of the VVIPs who have entered the premises.
In no mood to listen to this, one of them even threatens the PI that he is going to take action against him for being an MLA.
Sakharam Kamble also said in his FIR lodged with the Sadar police, “When I tried to intervene, a man who identified himself as MLA Nitin Deshmukh allegedly thrashed me. His supporters also created a ruckus.”
A senior police officer of Sadar Police has also said that the footage shows the MLA and his supporters scuffling with the police and once attacking the PSI.
The police also said, “No arrests have been made at all so far.” Further investigation is on.
