Active cases cross 300, more beds added in some private hospitals

Nagpur: With the recent spike, the number of active covid cases has exceeded 300, Covid wards of many private hospitals have had to add more beds, While medical colleges have also started their own isolation facilities once again.

There was an urgent need to open covid wards in IGGMCH and GMCH. IGGMCH officials have said that a patient who had fallen in the oxygen saturation level had to be admitted on Saturday. They completely claim to be vaccinated against covid. We have also asked for proof. A resident doctor has also been admitted. They are mildly symptomatic. They have provided 60 coronavirus beds after closing two medicine wards. More samples have also been sent for genome sequencing.

A high-risk pregnant woman has tested positive at GMCH, Due to which the hospital has been forced to start its coronavirus bed facility once again. Five more patients have been admitted in the day.

Covid Patients Admitted

AIIMS Nagpur with the current capacity of around 100 beds has reached to 80 admissions.

In keeping with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation policy, around 5 to 30 beds were also reserved for institutional isolation of coronavirus patients in many private hospitals.

Dr Ashok Arbat, director of KRIIMS Hospital, has said that about 6 coronavirus patients are admitted. He is not serious at all and could have stayed at home too. They keep them only for 5 to 7 days, During which many preliminary investigations are done. Now there are total 15 beds for coronavirus.

A spokesman for Kingsway Hospitals said they have a ward of about 60 beds. At present, about 30 patients are also admitted. And according to the need, they will also expand the facility of coronavirus.
