Violence on streets on Holi, splatter troubles police

Nagpur: City police, who maintained a strict vigil on Holiday on Friday, had several anxious moments struggling to tackle violence on the road, which included an ugly spat with the former mayor Pandurang Hiwarkar near Rameshwari Square, following a road rage.
Hiwarkar, his son Ajay and others were allegedly agitating on the road after their car was dashed by a biker riding triple seat from behind. Police had to control the agitation of the Hiwarkars after they wanted the three youngsters to be arrested immediately. Ajni police registered an offence against Hiwarkar and others after their argument with the cops snowballed to a confrontation.
In Pachpaoli, police personnel were beaten up by a gang of miscreant including one Pintu Thakur at Bezonbagh. The cop had intervened after seeing Thakur and his gang thrashing a youngster. Pintu Thakur’s brother is in the police department too. Pachpaoli police arrested Pintu Thakur and others in the offence.
Woman was injured after she was pushed down by minor
Two gangs clashed at Kirtidhar Society in Nara over splashing colour while enjoying Holi. Ritik Bodele stabbed on Aniket Thakre during the group clash. The fight started after Ritik Bodele friend Bunty put colour on him. Jaripatka police have booked Ritik Bodele, Bunty, Aniket Thakre and their friends for attacking each other.
In New Kamptee, 55-year-old woman Kasturabai Kokate was injured after she was pushed down by a minor following a heated exchange over playing DJ at a loud volume and creating ruckus around it at Rama Nagar.
