1200 Units Resume Partial Operations in City with Lukewarm Response
As the lockdown continues, the city administration has relaxed certain areas to operate especially the ones who are found in the green zones away from any case of virus. Thus most of the companies working in Nagpur are resuming with their partial operations calling 30 per cent of their employees from the nearby places falling in the safer zones. As per reports, there are more than 5000 big and small production units found in MIDC areas and Butibori.
These employ not less than 35000 employees in the city. The city has 1700 industrial units that involve production and these have called partial staff from the safe zone to start the partial production in their units. Ever since the lockdown came in effect, the industrial units have been put on hold and the production has been stopped in the said units.
The employees are yet to get their salaries and wages as the production units are facing tough times in terms of cash crunch. All the industries working in Nagpur who opened up last week seemed to have gone down in terms of production and revenue. Hence they were not able to pay the salaries of the workers. However, the workers association has assured the people joining work to get the remaining wages soon. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
