Bombay High Court Nagpur Bench issues 2 weeks notice to NMC to clear roads of electric pole

With the electric poles seen on the newly constructed cement roads in the cities creating hurdles for the city commuters for a smooth movement, the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court seems to have given a strict notice to the civic body in the city to clear them all to make things smooth for the people. The civic body had its target to clear all these issues by 31st Jan.

However, the NMC claims that with the constant and unseasonal rain, things have turned bad to worse making things difficult to accomplish. The civic body further claimed that more than eight of electric outages are seen moving with the work process smooth to remove the poles along with replacing them over the new location. In the total 19 roads have been falling in the list and only two have been cleared off, while 17 on the roads are still remaining on the roads.

The MSEDCL is likely to take care of the remaining 14 roads which are likely to complete soon. So both the NMC and the MSEDCL today have found around 2,704 electric poles in more than 113 roads in the city. The civic body now has found out around 368 DP/TP/FP structures along with 100 transformers being installed in them that could be seen in the middle of the road.

MSEDCL has taken the responsibility to take care of these electric poles found over the seven roads out of 113 roads found within the jurisdiction of the National Highway Authority of India. The HC has already given warnings earlier to the civic body about the same but nothing was done in this regard that made the court to issue fresh orders to complete the mess within two weeks’ time.
