Reach Jabalpur in 6 Hours from Nagpur in Train after Broad Gauging

Yes, you heard it right, the Nagpur citizens who take around almost overnight to travel to Jabalpur from Nagpur would slash down the travel time to around 5-6 years. Now, they will be able to travel soon in six hours from Nagpur via train. This is only possible as the broad-gauging of 60km stretch found between the station Nainpur and Samnapur in Nagpur district of the SECR or South East Central Railway. This will reduce travel time to six hours.

Currently, the passengers take not less than 11 to 12 hours to reach Jabalpur, when compared to the low-cost flying buses that take only 5-6 hours of travel time to the same destination. This will be possible as we see the railway authorities planning to kick off the work of the broad-gauging between the said locations. As per reports, it is only 60 km stretch that has to be made broad gauge falling into Nagpur division. With this, the railway routes can be easily diverted using the said location to reach Jabalpur in less than 6 hours.

As per reports, the 35 km stretch between Nainpur to Lamta falling under the MP is under process. The construction of the broad gauge has started there, which is expected to end by this year-end. In the second phase, one can witness the 25 KM stretch between Samnapur and Lamta would undertake that would cost around 40 Crores INR. Currently, the distance traveled between Nagpur and Jabalpur takes around 12 hours for 545 km, which would further reduce to around 200 km turning 346 km thus reducing the time of travel as well.
