Victim Gyana Shende was lynched to death on September 5 at Mangalwaripet slum in Umred in Nagpur district. Police suspected the involvement of two close friends of the deceased, Sukadu Kartule (22) and Surjeet Mandale (30), in the murder, but no clue was found.
Friends Kill Youngster
Umred Police officials of Nagpur City Rural had exposed the matter on Friday after receiving news of a tiny painted patch at Mandale residence.

The police have given a statement that Shende, Kartule and Mandale are all three petty thieves. The three friends had collected around Rs 160 by selling some stolen scraps. Due to this, a dispute started between the three friends, which turned into a fight after drinking alcohol in the house of a friend’s circle.
The police again reported that a friend Mandale then hit Shende with an iron rod, which resulted in Shende death.
Under the leadership of Addl. SP Rahul Maknikar and SP Rakesh Ola, the investigation of this entire matter is going on. Senior Inspector Yashwant Solse has said that two friends Mandale and Kartule then put Shende body in a sack and took it on a bicycle to the forest of Amrai.
“There Mandale and Kartule hit Shende body in a trench dug by a utility agency and completely covered the body with soil,” Soulse said.
