Tiger Marathon To be Organised on Nov 3 in City
There seems to be a good awareness of health and fitness among the citizens of Nagpur. Now, we see more and more people and groups organizing various fitness and health events in the city to inculcate the values of healthy living. In this direction, we have a group called the Pro-Health Foundation, and the Miles N Milllers Endurance Sports Academy have together with Maharashtra Police to jointly organize a big event Tiger Marathon on November 3 at the Police Gymkhana close to joggers street.
Talking to the media, Dr. Amit Samarth from the group Pro-Health Foundation informed about the event. He talked about the various categories that fall under the 21 km half marathon for above 18 years, while 10 km for above 18 years, and 5 km for 14 to 18 years, whereas for the 3 km it is for under-14 and 5 and 3 km fun race. As per him, the race will commence at Police Gymkhana and will end up at the same spot. It will have different categories of race that is slated for different timing, which goes as under:
The 21 km and 10 km events at 5.45 a.m. The participants will be given Tees at the venue from 11 am to 5 pm, while there will be spot registration as well on 2nd November. The total prize money for the event would be around Rs 2.75 lakh. Besides, Dr Samarth said that 500 policemen are going to participate in the race. Gajanan Rajmane the DCP (crime) Nagpur will be present at the event and thus would remain the key attraction of the event. With the start of the Tiger Marathon this year, it would remain the regular and annual feature, which will be carried out on an annual basis.
