City Civic Body NMC to take control on hazardous air pollution
With Diwali just passing by we saw the air quality levels in the city seemed okay. Yet it turned to be a matter of concern since past week as the air quality in the city has gone down. Now, we see the civic body of our city called NMC back in action who is now all set to take a couple of preventive measurements to reduce the air pollution to mend the mess created by the sound pollution in the city.
As per the recent meeting between NMC and and officials of the other department the body has now decided to come out with mechanical road sweepers for regulating the dust pollution in the city. Also, the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) as launched by the central environment ministry the high pollution cities including Nagpur now have to submit the report on the pollution control action plan. It is now mandatory for these cities to submit the report. Now, we see the city turning bad when it comes to the growing pollution levels.
As per reports, the city have been approved the funds of Rs.6 crore and has been even reserved for the implementation of the plan. As per reports, the civic authority are going to put a couple of things to curb the problem. As per one of of the officials of the MPCB the board seems to be planning to boost up the continuous ambient air quality monitoring stations in the city. Also they are supposed to display the real-time air quality data in Nagpur. Besides, NMC would also develop green buffer zone, traffic corridors, wastage segregation, and installing water sprinklers.
