City Extends RTE Deadline
As reported earlier, the number of applications under Right to Education has got an overwhelming response exceeding to 400 per cent of additional applications this year. Despite the growing numbers, the city educational department has exceeded the deadline for the online application date which has now gone to 4th of March. With more than 400 per cent of additional response has been seen in the city, the department went on extending the deadline to make it more competitive this year.
As per the officials of the Education Department, there should be more applications so that it can give them the chance to pick the right kind of candidates from the applications. As per reports the number of seats available under the RTE quota that offers kids of underprivileged section of the society to avail free education is around 6797 in the total of 680 schools. However, the total number of applications received was around 30020.
Talking about the same, Shahid Sharif one of the activists in Education domain in city said that the rise of applications has even witnessed issues like the server crash down leading to non performance of the website taking up the applications. He said that with the rise of the number of applications, many educational institutes and schools in city have put an hold to admissions under RTE.
