City Misses Ram Navmi Celebration amidst the lockdown
The outbreak of COVID 19 has hampered the celebration of the Ram Navmi in the city. It has been celebrated since last 53 years at a stretch and this is the first time when the city has missed the celebration of Ram Navami. The grand procession that has always gone to the next level with every passing year, we see it missing in 2020, all thanks to the outbreak of the said virus. However, the traditional Puja was carried out by the devotees witnessing social distancing for obvious reasons in the city.
Every year, we see the people from the city coming out with huge procession and celebration amidst the Ram Navmi eve. However, with the current lockdown people preferred to stay in their home and carried out their traditional puja inside their homes. They remained active in celebrating their homes putting over the series light and other decoration to mark the celebration amidst the lockdown phase.
The civic body officials along with the local politicians were seen appealing the people to stay inside the home, however, in the evening people were seen out to procure vegetable and groceries for their home. Some of the hot spots of Ram Navmi remains the Itwari area, which seemed sealed for the obvious reason, otherwise, it remains the most crowded place in the city on the eve of Ram Navmi celebration.
