Encounters in the Maoist-affected district are far fiercer: Devendra Fadnavis
Devendra Fadnavis, the guardian minister of Gadchiroli district, praised the efforts of the police, especially the C-60 commandos, during his two-day visit to the tribal district.
Nagpur: The encounters in the Maoist-affected district are far more fierce, in difficult terrain, and more real than anywhere else. Although similar operations in Mumbai or elsewhere in Maharashtra make a lot of headlines, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is also the state’s home minister, said during a speech in Gadchiroli district on Monday.
He also told TOI, “It is not at all that the Mumbai encounters are unreal, But the very terrain in which the C-60 has to fight, with little hope of reinforcements, making these encounters many times more real and fierce.”
Devendra Fadnavis, the guardian minister of Gadchiroli district, praised the efforts of the police, especially the C-60 commandos, during his two-day visit to the tribal district.
Devendra Fadnavis said about this, “Sometimes, the operation continues for two-three days amid heavy shelling from both sides. And these efforts under such dire circumstances can only be appreciated as a true reflection of valor and courage.”
Success of C-60 commandos cannot come at all from policing alone
Please inform that Devendra Fadnavis visited Damrancha and Gyarapatti post during his tour. He also appreciated the C-60 commandos for implementing the ‘Dadalora Khidki’ or one-window assistance system of the district police in remote locations.
The Deputy CM also handed over monetary benefits (Rs 8 lakh) to the family of Maoist victim Sainath Narote. And he praised the C-60 commandos and their officers for neutralizing the attackers of the tribal student.
Devendra Fadnavis has said about this that the success of C-60 commandos cannot come at all from policing alone. “The C-60 commandos had developed communication with the tribals, acting as ‘first responders’ to their needs, And by cutting them off from Maoist influence and winning them over to their side, they have completely managed to win their trust and confidence,” Devendra Fadnavis said.
