On the other hand, during the day also 11 patients were cured, These include 2 in Washim, 7 in Nagpur, and 1 each in Amravati and Chandrapur. The same area had reported more recovery and fewer cases after 4 days. Even after this, the number of patients under treatment had come down to 71.
There has also been a jump in the number of new cases over the last four days. Especially in the first two days of the month of June, a double-digit increase in new cases has been registered. But, on the date of June 3, despite conducting about 3,000 tests in the entire region, only 5 new cases were reported.
The test positivity rate, which was more than 0.85% during the first two days of the month of June, had also come down to 0.17% on Friday. Vidarbha’s daily test count is likely to drop in the next 48 hours due to the weekend. However, despite a very good number of tests on Friday, the drop in test positivity before it is very good news. In the last 24 hours, no one has died of coronavirus in this area at all.
District Nagpur had conducted about 570 tests, Of which 483 took place in the city (NMC) and 87 in rural (ZP) areas as well. Four of them, 2 from the city and 2 from the rural, had tested positive. Of the 7 cured, six were also from rural Nagpur while 1 was from the city. At present, 36 patients are undergoing treatment in district Nagpur, of which 19 are from rural and 16 from NMC areas.
According to the health administration, all 36 patients are in home isolation. 15 patients are also undergoing treatment in Chandrapur, second only to Nagpur, followed by Washim (5), Wardha and Bhandara (3 each), Akola and Gadchiroli (2 each), and Yavatmal (1). Buldhana and Gondia have been the only two districts where currently not a single patient is being treated at all.
