Chandrapur: MP Balu Dhanorkar has alleged that the power plant of Dhariwal Infrastructure Limited in Tadali MIDC is causing a lot of pollution and destroying the crops completely.
He has also written a letter to Industries Minister Uday Sawant claiming that he is going to shut down the power plant on the date of December 6 through a mass movement.
Balu Dhanorkar has also claimed in his letter that the entire agricultural land of the power plant in Sonegaon is highly affected by the fly ash spread from the pond. They have also alleged that the surrounding land is absolutely not suitable for further cultivation. Similarly, the ash of the pond is seeping into the drains and rivers and spreading water pollution.
In addition, a large number of leakages in the pipeline carrying water from the plant’s pump house into the Wardha River near Wadha village is responsible for the destruction of crops.
Dhanorkar has threatened to shut down the power plant
Dhanorkar has further alleged that the company is illegally laying pipelines from the river to the plant without any permission or measurement of the land.
Balu Dhanorkar has further alleged that heavy vehicles carrying fly ash from the company’s pond are parked haphazardly on the Chandrapur-Nagpur highway due to which the passengers also face a lot of trouble and the chances of accidents also increase a lot.
The lone Congress MP from Maharashtra also alleged that he had written to the Collector twice but in vain.
In light of the alleged apathy of the district administration and company management, Dhanorkar has threatened to shut down the power plant and has also said that he will not allow it to be reopened at all until the demands of the farmers are met.
