Last year, more than 1.88 lakh covid cases were registered in the month of April, Which is the highest single-month case of the district, Then it is followed by 79,680 in the month of March and 69,265 in the month of May. The coronavirus cases for the month of January this year are around 37% of the peak of the second wave in the month of April last year.

Last month, 136 people had died due to covid, Which is only more than 5% of the people reported in the month of April, When more than 2,300 people had succumbed to the virus.

As citizens, uninfected and vaccinated, have suffered widespread cough, fever, and mild illness such as colds, Many people did not like to get tested for coronavirus at all, Whereas even the doctors did not insist on it at all. According to the doctors, some people had done a complete and partial examination, But it took him less than five days to recover.

With the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) carrying out contact tracing and testing for asymptomatic close contacts, the district had almost never crossed the 14,000 daily testing mark. During the months of March, April and May last year, the district touched around 30,000 daily tests.

A very strong indicator of this wave turning down is the decline in active covid cases over the past week. Active covid cases have come down from 29,918 on the date of 26 January to around 20,000. According to experts, the third wave of the district is also likely to peak between January 22 and January 26.

With 321 active cases on the date of January 1, 54 persons were admitted inside the institutional quarantine centers and hospitals. It had come down to about 16 percent.

On the date of 26 January, when the district had the highest number of active cases in the third wave of the virus, Then the penetration rate had gone up to just over 1%, However, in terms of numbers, it was much higher. At present, about 2.78% of patients are admitted, But out of about 569 patients, some are in institutional quarantine.
