IAS Officer Tukaram Mundhe’s transfer order cancelled
Nagpur: The cancellation of transfer order of the no-nonsense IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe, former Nagpur Municipal Chief, was celebrated by the Nagpurians. Soon after he was tested positive with the deadly coronavirus, he was issued a transfer letter and was appointed as Member Secretary at Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran while he was undergoing home isolation.
On August 26, the Mahavikas Aghadi government announced the transfer of Tukaram Mundhe to Mumbai who took charge just eight months ago only due to pressure from various quarters including the MAG’s own ministers. The post of the Nagpur Municipal Commissioner was further held by Radhakrishnan B.
During these eight months, the NMC Commissioner Mundhe was opposed strongly by various senior corporators of the saffron party. Mundhe, however on the contrary received great love and support from the citizens of the second state capital who even protested against his transfer order.
The Nagpurians expressed joy on the news of the cancellation of the transfer order of the 2005-batch IAS officer. Mundhe has successfully fought the deadly coronavirus a few days ago.
