In Maharashtra, Police to conduct narco analysis of Shraddha Sidam’s cousin
Shraddha, a class III student, had gone missing on 28th November, and her charred body was also found on Wednesday 30th November in Papda Khurd village of Sakoli tehsil.
Nagpur: Bhandara police is all set to conduct a narco analysis of 25-year-old Ajay Sidam, cousin of eight-year-old Shraddha Sidam. Which was killed and burnt between the date of 28 to 30 November.
Shraddha, a class III student, had gone missing on 28th November, and her charred body was also found on Wednesday 30th November in Papda Khurd village of Sakoli tehsil. Forensic experts have also suggested that the girl died due to strangulation. TOI had earlier also reported about Shraddha’s murder mystery.
The Bhandara police, deployed a large number of personnel to search for the girl after she was reported missing, When the dead body of the victim was found in a burnt condition behind her house, she was again stunned.
The killing had triggered widespread outrage in the district, with various tribal groups fighting for justice.
SP Lohit Matani has also said that Ajay Sidam has been arrested on the basis of strong evidence and his past conduct with the deceased. “We are considering conducting a narco test on the accused (Ajay) who is in police custody. The accused has been misleading the investigation team till now.” Lohit Matani said. The SP said, “The victim’s mother is now keen to share more details and submit a statement against Ajay on how he often abused and tortured Shraddha.”
Shraddha reached home around 3.30 pm when Ajay was also present
It has also been learned that Shraddha’s family had claimed that Ajay used to harass the girl a lot on the pretext of one or the other work. “The family has also claimed that Ajay used to behave inappropriately towards his younger cousin, who was scared of him. There were some bruises on Shraddha in the past, which many believed to be Ajay’s handiwork,” said a source in the probe team.
The police also said that Ajay also asked Shraddha to bring chewable tobacco (kharra) and also gave her two Rs 10 coins. Shraddha reached home around 3.30 pm when Ajay was also present.
“Both Ajay and Shraddha were last seen very close to the victim’s house and then went missing for hours afterward. And then two days later Shraddha’s dead body was found in burnt condition,” a senior official said.
