Nagpur: It is now mandatory to wear masks even inside homes. While the employees and owners of the medical shop have also expressed concern over not wearing masks, Guardian Minister Nitin Raut said.
Addressing the public in view of the increase in the positive cases of coronavirus in the district, Nitin, also the Energy Minister, said that The district has registered around 3,000 cases between December 20 and January 8. The daily cases in the district have touched around 750. The growth rate has increased manifold. Everyone should not be afraid but should follow the proper behavior of coronavirus. Wearing of masks is mandatory in workplaces and even inside homes.
When asked whether any such guidelines have been issued by the central or state government, Nitin has said that when social distancing inside homes is not possible due to overcrowding or compact dwellings. Then there is no option but to wear the mask.
Dr Nitin Shinde, an expert in infectious diseases, has said that wearing masks indoors is of no use in any way. It is a very simple process that in case of any symptoms. One should get tested and isolated.
Revised Guidelines Applicable
Nitin has also said that in the current covid cases, the patients do not need oxygen yet. As a preparation, they have provided about 27,000 beds and an adequate amount of oxygen in hospitals. Everyone should finish their second dose of covid.
Collector R Vimala and Municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B have issued orders on Sunday to implement the new guidelines issued by the state government a day earlier. The revised guidelines will be applicable from the night on Sunday. Night curfew will be implemented between 11 pm to 5 am. Where no one is allowed to go out of the houses at all except for essential purposes. From 5 in the morning to 11 in the night, gatherings of more than five people will not be allowed at all. Colleges and schools including coaching classes will remain closed till the date of February 15. Restaurants, salons, gyms, essential and non-essential services, etc. will have to be closed at 10 pm.
